HMV launch my DVD Expert!

Ok I know it's getting really close to christmas but I believe there's still time to get those orders in. This looks like quite a nice site that helps you to identify presents for family members / friends. Though I tested it on myself and it suggested a DVD I already have - rubbish, I would never buy a duplicate!

It also has some quizzes and the usual promotional stuff yadda yadda yadda.. My DVD Expert

Christmas Time!

So have you written up your wish lists yet? Sadly I know in advance every single DVD I shall be receiving. Yes, my family are extremely rubbish at knowing what to buy and force me to give them gift ideas. *sigh*

Still, it looks like a brilliant line up for christmas day.

1. The Pedro Almodovar Collection, featuring:
Bad Education, Talk To Her, All About My Mother, Live Flesh, Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down

I love receiving collections like these, from highly acclaimed filmmakers that you'd never maybe got into. It's quite satisfying being able to go through a selection of any given filmmakers work and spotting the similarities in tone, message, style etc. It's something I had previously done with Hitchcock (as mentioned here). Plus, you know, it's always good to expand on your film knowledge so that you can show off to others!!

2. Sin City: Recut and Extended

Actually, when this arrived the other day I realised that I actually already own it (damn, myDVD Expert was right!! ^^^) Still, I can't help it, my collection is getting slightly unmanageable and it's hard to keep track. At least they're different versions, my other one being the bare bones vanilla version. It'll be good to go through some of the extra scenes and all the additional content. Maybe I should have bought the Kill Bill Collection instead though as I still don't own either of those.. That's been going quite cheap recently too.

3. The latest Mika DVD - yaaaaayuuuuugh!! Listen, I got it for my mum ok? Quit judging me! It's going to be blasted out on christmas day though so I may as well mentally prepare for it in advance. Incidentally I came to realise just how dirty buying something like that can make you feel. I need to get cleeean!!

Plus you know, it also messes up your recommended DVD lists. "Do you want to buy more Mika? No? Some Take That?" Ahhhhh!! No NO for the love of god NOOOHH!!!1111kjhklahsfklhsfkzkzkzkzlk

Ok I'll end this post here as I clearly have nothing worthwhile to say - I'll see you soon for a special review of Blade Runner: The Final Cut!

Stay tuned!
